Since this honey is from the nectar of various blossoms, it contains a variety of pollen and its colour can range from light yellow to dark brown. This honey is an important nutrient because of its capacity to destroy micro-organisms that can make deceases chronic, by preventing reproduction or spreading of these micro-organisms. For example, Doctor Dr. W. G. Peterson of the USA cured, or reduced allergic reactions in about 20,000 patients by giving them honey that was gathered within a 10 km radius of the patient's dwelling. This treatment is based on the principle that the negligible quantities of allergen substances found in honey, by becoming active, raise the defensive power of the body. Dr. Peterson proposes that the patient starts the treatment with a teaspoon of honey in the morning, gradually increasing the dosage - up to ten teaspoons. In this treatment, it is important to keep honey natural – that is, not filtered.

Linden honey

Linden honey has light yellow colour, pleasant lime aroma, and mild flavour. It can crystallize rapidly, so attaining an almost white colour.

This honey differs from other honey as a result of its sedative and antiseptic qualities. It is recommended for cases of anxiety and insomnia.
